Mark Margiotta, DPM

With more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Mark Margiotta DPM, FACFAS is well trained to treat the most complex conditions of the foot and ankle. Dr. Margiotta expertly treats conditions of the adult and pediatric foot and ankle. Dr. Margiotta places outstanding patient care and compassion as his top priorities, and is a strong proponent of evidence-based medicine.

Dr. Margiotta is board-certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He has served in multiple leadership roles within the certifying organizations.

Dr. Margiotta received his undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi and attended medical school achieving a Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco. He completed clinical training at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, and the Audie Murphy VA Medical Center in San Antonio Texas. Dr. Margiotta went on to Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio to complete the Basic Officer Leadership Course for the U.S. Army Medical Corp. Dr. Margiotta was then commissioned in the Army as the rank of Captain and then completed residency training in reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu Hawaii. From there, Dr. Margiotta served at the Chief of the Podiatry Division at the Blanchfield Army Community Hospital at Fort Campbell Kentucky. There he treated war injuries of the 101st Airborne Division and 5th Special Forces Group. He was deployed multiple times in service to his country. After military service, Dr. Margiotta managed patients in the Indian Health Service in Claremore Oklahoma before transferring to the Raymond G. Murphy VA Medical Center in Albuquerque New Mexico. Dr. Margiotta served as Chief of the Podiatry Service and Residency Director of the three-year Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency.

Dr. Margiotta has participated in international surgical missions in Nicaragua, El Salvador, Mexico and Cuba. An avid mountain biker and snowboarder, Dr. Margiotta enjoys the amazing outdoor opportunities New Mexico has to offer. He also coaches youth flag football in his spare time.
